Recognition of Excellence in the Broad General Education Phase S1– any one piece of outstanding work produced as part of BGE phase in S1.
Recognition of Excellence in the Broad General Education Phase S2– any one piece of outstanding work produced as part of BGE phase in S2.
Recognition of Excellence in the Broad General Education Phase S3– any one piece of outstanding work produced as part of BGE phase in S3.
Senior Phase
National 5 Practical Woodworking– any piece of practical work which demonstrates a candidates skills. (Photographs welcome at the entry stage or practical models sent to FAO Ian Bell at Calderglen High School if location permits.)
National 5 Practical Metalworking– any piece of practical work which demonstrates a candidates skills. (Photographs welcome at the entry stage or practical models sent to FAO Ian Bell at Calderglen High School if location permits.)
National 5 Practical Electronics– any piece of practical work which demonstrates a candidates skills. (Photographs welcome at the entry stage or practical models sent to FAO Ian Bell at Calderglen High School if location permits.)
Alternative Curriculum Awards– awards will also be presented for subjects out with the suite of NQs. This includes but is not limited to NPA, Skills for Work, PDA and other accredited courses such as DEC, Creative Thinking etc.
All of the following will be awarded at National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher levels
Graphic Communication– any piece of graphics work produced during a Graphic Communication course e.g. rendered drawing, thumbnail sketches, orthographic
sketches, engineering drawing produced on a drawing board, CAD, 3D modelling, digital thumbnails, DTP etc. (maximum 3 A3 pages)
Design and Manufacture– any piece of work which shows the development of a design idea produced manually or electronically during a Design and Manufacture course. (maximum 5 A3 pages)
Engineering Science– any piece of work about an aspect of engineering or an engineering project.
Open to All
Recognition of Excellence of a Pupil with Additional Support Needs– any one piece of outstanding work produced by a pupil working in a Special School or Support Unit with a mainstream school
3D Printing– any one piece of work which has utilised 3D Printing in its production or has considered how 3D Printing could be used.
Laser Cutting- any one piece of work which has utilised Laser Cutting in its production or has considered how Laser Cutting could be used.
President’s Award- We ask for you to nominate an individual or group who merit recognition for their positive contribution within a Technical curriculum which falls out with other Award categories.
Innovative Design Award- any piece of work which shows excellence in innovation, invention and creativity.
Recognition Of Teachers
We ask for you to volunteer a Teacher who has made an outstanding contribution to your schools and departments. This should reflect someone who has an interesting, motivating or innovative project which you consider good practice or someone who has worked exceptionally hard to affect change in their school community.
Social Media Award- we are looking to recognise schools who showcase pupil work, engage with their communities/partners or work collegiately to share resources via Social Media platforms
