S1 Candle Holder Project

We present to you the first electronic journal post! This is sponsored by Brian Kennedy and our friends at Shawlands Academy.

For those of us lucky to attend Brian’s workshop at the 2016 conference, we’ll all be familiar with it. We’ve also included their S1 mixed materials candle holder if you want something a bit different.

Many people firmly believe in teaching traditional skills but all too often we find ourselves thinking back to trowels, toolboxes and spatulas. This approach to a mixed materials craft project has had a bit of early design thrown in to offer personalisation and choice. It covers a lot of processes and allows you to teach a lot of theory alongside it. We think it’s ideal for a starting project or perhaps a second project after a skill builder. The second candle holder introduces riveting but can be as easily spot welded.

Brian has very kindly given us his resources to share with you below.

We hope you enjoy!
