Remote Learning Materials

We are working on producing remote learning materials for delivering SQA qualifications and BGE CfE classes. We will also provide links here to existing materials made by other sources.

Design and Manufacture:

Logo and Banner Redesign Challenge– links to analysing a brief, identifying target market and producing initial ideas. YouTube instructions

MrsF’s BSL PPE modelling challenge–  a challenge in BSL with subtitles for the hearing with a Design and Model task using scrap materials around the house or by drawing sketches, or both. Could be expanded to cover modelling types and their uses.

Processes Treasure Hunt– a challenge to learn about stage-appropriate processes and identify household object manufactured in these ways. Accompanying PowerPoint with process knowledge required or teacher could use their own resources.

Materials Identification Task– using items around the home, pupils will identify the materials used and then discuss the properties of these materials that make them suitable for their purpose. Teacher can determine the number of items to be found, the method of presenting their work and the types of materials to look for.

Engineering Science:

Mr Davidson’s BGE Engineering Science forms- PLEASE DUPLICATE THESE TO YOUR OWN GLOW/OFFICE365 ACCOUNT OR MR DAVIDSON WILL RECEIVE ALL YOUR SUBMISSIONS.

Secret Life Of Machines – The Electric Light
Secret Life Of Machines – The Washing Machine
BGE Teardown

Introduction to Energy– would mostly suit S3 as an introductory lesson to energy or as a BGE task. Starts with a lesson and has an assignment at the end which could be presented in a variety of ways- poster, presentation, video, report etc as required.
